PASCALE VAQUETTE

Pascale Vaquette is a French Artist based in Los Angeles. Borrowing from the past, she uses the ancient method of coiling to handbuild vessels and sculptures. The simplicity of the shapes embodies a timeless aesthetic. Made of stoneware or porcelain, the pieces are often left unglazed to reveal the natural body of the clay or textured to create a distinctive distressed look. Blurring the line between primitive and contemporary, her work captures the spontaneous beauty of imperfection.
