A cropped photograph of rocks photographed in Greece, printed on a reflective surface. The work transforms a fragment of landscape into an abstract composition of texture, light, and form, while the reflective surface incorporates the viewer and their surroundings into the image. Installed outdoors among rocks and greenery, the photograph connects a remembered landscape with the landscape immediately surrounding the viewer.
 
Shaniqwa Jarvis is an American artist renowned for her photography and mixed-media works that explore themes of memory, heritage, and interconnectedness. Her practice often examines identity, legacy, and perception through an intergenerational lens, using layered compositions of C-prints, fabrics, and deconstructed archival images. She also incorporates video and scent into her exhibitions.
